The Range Rover is a series of 4x4 off-road vehicles produced between 1969 and 1996, initially by the Rover division (later Land Rover) of British Leyland, and later by Rover Group. The first generation of cars produced under the name Range Rover was manufactured as a two-door model during its first 11 years, until a four-door model was also available in 1981. Later on, the Range Rover successfully entered the luxury market during the 1980s.
